The Affable Stranger

I am unable to know,
If he's a friend or a foe
As amiable and helpful as he is,
so malign is his deadly kiss
His company has made me so glad,
His amity has also made me sad
Never has he comforted my temper
but has always celebrated my laughter
To prove myself defiant,
I had to make him confront
Courage helped me grab his collar,
My mind helped me realize his power
I watched him haunt me with terror,
But did agnize that he was just a mirror
I smiled, cried, tried all to make him happy
But realized that all he ever did was copy
Never did he trouble me again,
but he helped me relieve my pain
I have already warned a few,
let me also do it to you
If you meet him, you got to be shrewd,
He goes by the name solitude.
